Wellcome Collection is part of the Wellcome Trust, the largest charity in the UK.
The Trust spends about £650 million every year both in the UK and internationally achieving its mission: supporting and promoting research to improve the health of humans and animals.
As well as tackling immediate priorities, our independence and long-term perspective enable us to support research that will benefit future generations. This rounded view extends to our work on the impact of biomedical research.
We seek to improve understanding of the ways science and medicine have developed, and how research affects people and society today.

We support research in universities and other academic centres in the UK and in overseas locations. We also manage our own projects and initiatives.
