Perspectives Tour
Friday 9 May 14.00
Dr Sanjoy Bhattacharya lectures in the history of medicine at UCL, specialising in 19th- and 20th-century South Asian history and the deployment and workings of international and global health programmes. He has written and edited papers on smallpox, vaccination and epidemics in Asian medicine.
He is currently working on a project dealing with the World Health Organization’s role in eradicating smallpox in association with national and local governments in the region.
Over 45 minutes Sanjoy will lead you through the 'Medicine Now' exhibition, exploring the significance of certain objects and artworks in detail.
There is no need to book (though spaces are limited) - just meet your guide beside the Information Desk on the ground floor.
