Rebound Talk

Artist Paul Ryan talked with a medical doctor about how lives, treatments and feelings have changed over the last two decades. Together with the audience they not only recalled these changes but also marked out what HIV means in London today, and what it might mean in the future.

Paul Ryan
I was born in Leicester in 1968. I studied at two colleges now within the University of the Arts London, where I am currently completing a PhD funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. I have completed a number of residencies, including for the Imperial War Museum, (2006). Recent collaborations include 'Epstein's Liverpool' for Tate Liverpool and 'Portrait of John Hough for London's Pocket Tube Map', both with Jeremy Deller.
Angelina Namiba
Originally from Kenya, I currently work as Policy and Involvement Manager for Positively Women. My main role is to promote the involvement of women living with HIV in forming and informing local and national strategy. I act as an adviser to health and other professionals on HIV issues and I am an advocate for women living with HIV. I am also a committed microbicides advocate and have in the past been a Trustee of the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS.
