The Meat of the Tongue: The body
This video shows Tishani Doshi performing 'The Fasting Season'.
About the event
Thursday 8 May, 19.00–20.30
In the Kenyan fairy tale 'The Meat of the Tongue', a healthy diet consists of fairy tales, jokes, songs and poems. The poems paint pictures, tell stories, impart information and engage with our emotions.
Visitors to this event enjoyed live readings of poets' work exploring the body, its rhythms, desires, senses and dysfunctions.
