Of all the different medical imaging techniques, ultrasound is
probably the one with which we are most familiar. Since its
introduction in the 1950s ultrasonography has become a very useful
diagnostic tool in obstetrics, enabling doctors to monitor foetal
development. Here, Raj Dave explains to an expectant mother the
first ultrasound of her baby.
