Sir Charles Bell (1774-1842) was a Scottish anatomist and
surgeon and a pioneer in neurology. As well as being a prolific
researcher, teacher and author he was also a skilled artist. Some
of his graphic illustrations of men wounded at the Battle of
Waterloo can also be found in the Wellcome Library's
collections.
