Full skeleton
This skeleton, excavated from the Roman West burial ground,
dates from the second to third century CE. It is that of a male of
unknown age. The skeleton shows extensive evidence of multiple
myeloma - a cancer of the plasma in the blood. This disease weakens
the bones and is the likely cause of the fragmentation of the ribs
and pelvis.
