'The Mosquito Danger'
Print published by 'The Bureau for Increasing the Use of Quinine', Amsterdam, 1927
Quinine is the drug which provided the first effective treatment
for malaria. It was introduced into Europe from South America in
the 17th century, but since the 1940s it has been largely replaced
by other drugs for malaria treatment. Tonic water is flavoured with
small amounts of quinine.
