5x15: Best and Worst of Human Behaviour

What highs can human behaviour reach? And what
lows? Join us for a convivial evening exploring the best and worst
of human nature with 5x15.
5x15 involves five exceptional speakers each
given 15 minutes to explore topics ranging from the unruly emotion
of love to cruelty, the history of violence and the evolution of
cooperation. Each speaker has strictly 15 minutes and no scripts
are allowed in this lively and stimulating evening.
Speakers include:
Professor Simon Baron-Cohen,
University of Cambridge, talking about a new theory of human
cruelty
Professor Joanna Bourke,
Birkbeck, University of London, exploring the history of
violence
Lisa Appignanesi, author,
delves into love drawing on her book 'All About Love'
Camila Batmanghelidjh, the
inspirational founder of Kids Company, on her experiences working
with the UK's most disadvantaged young people
Roger Highfield, External
Affairs Director, National Museum of Science and Industry and
author, with Martin Nowak, of 'SuperCooperators: Evolution,
Altruism and Human Behaviour or, Why We Need Each Other to
Succeed'.
