Symposia at Wellcome Collection

When you hear the word 'symposium', you may think of a
conference held to discuss a matter of importance, a collection of
learned papers on a particular subject, or a convivial, stimulating
gathering with food and drink. Our symposia essentially combine
these aspects into an evening and day designed to attract an
engaged and lively audience from a wide range of backgrounds.
There is time to network and discuss ideas with fellow attendees
over drinks, coffee and lunch (included in the ticket price). Here
are some comments from past attendees:
"I found the whole event very refreshing. The speakers were all
excellent and the talks pitched at a level suitable for the broad
audience."
"Brilliant, diverse selection of speakers. Very stimulating
subjects that didn't overlap but which related. Very well chaired.
Paced very well, with breaks, to be able to absorb the ideas and
subjects raised."
"It was not overly full of jargon, it felt culturally
significant, intellectually stimulating, entertaining (speakers
were very engaging), and theatrical in the sense that it was a
shared, live event. I have been thinking about this event a great
deal since I attended."
"I liked the variety of speakers, and the chance to talk to
speakers and fellow attendees in the two coffee breaks, lunch
period and even drinks after the event."
"I felt that I left the event buzzing with ideas that I wanted
to read about and follow up."
