Vilayanur Ramachandran

Vilayanur Ramachandran is Director of the Center for Brain and Cognition at the University of California, San Diego. He has been described as the Marco Polo of neuroscience, thanks to pioneering (and often controversial) research into phantom limbs, mirror neurons and neuroplasticity. He spoke to A C Grayling about the limits of what we know about human consciousness.
