Getting Under Your Skin
30 July 2010, 12.00 - 17.00

How much do you really know about your own
skin? Join us as we scratch beneath the surface in an afternoon
full of fun activities suitable for all ages.
- Examine your skin under different types of microscopes.
- Be amazed by extraordinary images from the Wellcome
Library.
- Ever wanted to see what's beneath your skin? Paint your bones,
veins and muscles onto your skin with some help from a professional
make-up artist.
- Learn more about surgical procedures with Rhian Solomon, an artist
featured in the exhibition, and practice some surgical techniques
for folding and suturing the skin.
- If you could tattoo a name onto your body - what name would it
be and where? Contribute to a sculpture of very special tattoos
with poet Aoife Mannix.
This event is to support the 'Skin' exhibition, which will be
open all day.
This event is free. Drop in anytime.
