Why Do You Want to Live Forever?

21 January 2010, 19.00 - 20.30

Why Do You Want to Live Forever?

Is ageing simply a disease and a curable one at that? Should medicine be able to combat ageing just as we have combated and eliminated many diseases? We hear from the scientist developing the 'polypill' that could lengthen lives, and others, to discuss how our relationship with death has changed and where this might take us in the future.

Speakers

Guy Brown, Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry, University of Cambridge and author of The Living End
Aubrey de Grey, Chief Science Officer, SENS Foundation
Simon Thom, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Pharmacology, International Centre for Circulatory Health, Imperial College London
