Professor Kneebone's Pop-Up Anatomy Lesson
10 December 2011
Sessions start at 10.30, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.30
and last for 45 minutes.

Participants will get to roll up their sleeves
and get a close-up idea of what is where inside the body with
instruction from Professor Roger Kneebone and his team.
Roger trained first as a general and trauma
surgeon, spending five years in South Africa treating stab and
gunshot wounds. He then went into general practice in Wiltshire for
many years before leaving his practice to join Imperial
College in 2003. He is now Professor of Surgical Education at
Imperial, leading an unusual team of clinicians, psychologists,
engineers, computer scientists, prosthetics experts and artists. He
and his colleagues have pioneered the concept of hybrid simulation,
aligning inanimate simulators with real people to create realistic
yet safe clinical encounters. This event will showcase a portable
operating theatre, which the team has developed for training.
These events are FREE. Tickets
are available on the day of the event only, in Wellcome Collection,
from 10.00. A maximum of two tickets will be available per person
at 10.00.
This event is not recommended for people under the age
of 11.
