Tell it to your doctor

Until the twentieth century doctors held most of the power in the
doctor-patient relationship. Patients' input counted for little,
their voices rarely heard. Then the tide turned, and patients
became more vocal and active in their dealings with the medical
profession. These conversations between doctors and their former
patients offer a rare opportunity to hear how doctors and patients
communicate behind closed doors.
