Vocal Limits
25 June 2009, 19.00 - 20.30

The voice, your very own instrument, can sing, speak, flip and
creak. Vocal folds, vibrations and breathing all have an impact on
how our voice sounds. Why don't more singers know about their own
anatomy? Join Jeremy Fisher and Gillyanne Kayes to uncover the
magical world of the larynx and much more.
Jeremy Fisher
Jeremy is a performance coach, musician, writer and trainer. He
has worked in and around the West End for 20 years, as a conductor
of musicals on national tours, as a pianist and accompanist
internationally, as a vocal coach to West End actors and opera
singers, and as a coach for cabaret performers. He helps people to
understand what they are doing, and how to do it better. Jeremy
uses different formats to spread information and techniques about
voice and performance, including one-to-one coaching, books,
articles, videos, MP3s and the internet.
Gillyanne Kayes
Gillyanne is a vocal consultant, voice researcher and singing
teacher. She has worked as a trainer for actors and non-classical
singers for over 25 years and has trained many West End leads.
'Singing and the Actor' was her first book and is used by
performers and teachers worldwide. She also runs training courses
and performance workshops on how the voice works. Gillyanne is
currently researching the female voice in contemporary commercial
styles, and will be presenting at the Pan European Voice Conference
in August.
Facilitator
Timandra Harkness, writer and presenter.
