Perspectives Tour of 'High Society' with Mike Jay

Co-curator of High Society, Mike Jay is an author and historian who has written extensively on the use of drugs in relation to medicine, literature and politics. His books include 'Artificial Paradises: A drugs reader' and his book 'High Society' accompanies the exhibition.

 

Perspectives Tour of 'High Society' with Mark Nesbitt

Mark Nesbitt has extensive experience in ethnobotany and has undertaken fourteen years fieldwork in the Near East. He is curator of the Economic Botany Collection at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, and his research interests include Kew’s role in colonial botany and the history of the Materia Medica collections.

 

Perspectives Tour of 'High Society' with Amanda Feilding

Amanda Feilding is the founder of the Beckley Foundation, a charitable trust dedicated to researching consciousness from an interdisciplinary perspective. As director of its scientific and policy programmes, she has initiated pioneering research into the role that psychoactive drugs play in altering the conscious state, including studies on the treatment of addiction.

 

Perspectives Tour of 'High Society' with Robert Irwin

Robert Irwin is an author, broadcaster and scholar. He is an expert on Arabic Studies and has written both fiction and non fiction relating to the subject. He has also written about the drugs culture of the sixties in his novel 'Satan Wants Me', as well as in the non-fictional 'Memoirs of a Dervish', forthcoming in April 2011.

Danny Kushlick, the Head of External Affairs for Transform Drug Policy Foundation, campaigns for drug policy reform: the legalisation and regulation of drugs. He has extensive experience in the field, now as a renowned commentator on drug policy issues and formerly as a drug counsellor in the criminal justice system and for the Big Issue Foundation.
