George Jamieson aged 15
April Ashley, one of the first people in Britain to undergo a
full sex-change operation, was born George Jamieson. George was
teased by his siblings and schoolmates for his girlish looks, and
sought to make his voice break by imitating the film actor Robert
Mitchum.
