Terms and Conditions
“THINGS” IS A TEMPORARY EXHIBITION BY KEITH WILSON (THE
“ARTIST”) AT WELLCOME COLLECTION (THE
“PROJECT”). OBJECTS MAY BE EITHER GIFTED OR LOANED
BY YOU.
Wellcome Collection is part of the Wellcome Trust, a global
charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary
improvements in human and animal health.The Wellcome Trust
is a charitable foundation registered in England and Wales,
no. 210183.
OBJECTS
You warrant that the object is safe and does
not contain any prohibited or hazardous materials, including but
not limited to: endangered species; ivory (less than 100 yrs old);
mercury; wet specimens, including formaldehyde; human remains;
highly flammable/explosive material; perishables; Illegal
substances/items; drugs/chemicals; firearms.
You warrant that you own the object and are
entitled to either loan or gift the object to the Project and that
the object complies with all applicable laws.
We may refuse any object at our complete
discretion and, in particular, objects that are too valuable or
could pose a high risk. Any objects gifted to the Project may be
used by the Artist in any future projects at other locations.
All objects will be displayed anonymously
unless you write your name on the Things object form.
CARE OF OBJECTS
You acknowledge that this is a public event
and while we will use reasonable endeavours to take care of any
loaned objects, you leave all objects at your entire risk and
goodwill. You further acknowledge that the objects will not be
cared for to museum standard and no treatment will be given to them
(for example, cleaning) whille at Wellcome Collection.
We have the right to deal with and display
objects in such manner as we consider best.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Artist, the Wellcome Trust or its
non-charitable trading subsidiary Wellcome Trust Trading Limited
(WTTL) may photograph or reproduce any objects lent or gifted to
the Project for commercial or non-commercial purposes in all and
any media, including, without limitation, educational, cataloguing
and publicity purposes, and may sub-licence any of these rights.
Any profits by WTTL are gift-aided to the Wellcome Trust. No
reproduction fees will be paid to you. It is further understood
that the objects on exhibit may be photographed by the general
public.
LIABILITY
We will accept no liability for any loss or
damage that may be caused to any object loaned or gifted to the
Project. You will be responsible for insuring your object. You
waive any requirement for us to insure the object and this waiver
shall constitute your agreement to release and hold us harmless
from any liability for damage or loss to the object.
COLLECTION OF OBJECT
You acknowledge that you may only collect your
object on Thursday 21 October 2010 (18.00-22.00), Friday 22 October
2010 (10.00-18.00) and Saturday 23 October 2010 (10.00-18.00). You
will not be able to collect objects outside of these times.
If you do not collect your object by 18.00 on
Saturday 23 October 2010, we reserve the right to retain the object
as part of the Project and you shall be deemed to have gifted the
object.
You must bring your receipt to collect the
object and provide your password upon collection, otherwise you
will not be able to collect your object.
