'Wellcome's Hall Of Fame' Themed Tour

Wednesday 13 February 2013, 14.30-15.00

The Medicine Man gallery is crammed full of interesting and intriguing objects, many with a mysterious past. Join this free guided tour to learn more about the objects that share a story with certain celebrities from medical history and beyond. Starting with our founder himself, Henry Wellcome, the tour will chart a path through the clothing, equipment and even body parts of people as diverse as King George III and Florence Nightingale. Learn about Henry Wellcome’s use of celebrity product endorsement, and how hair samples can both pose and answer questions about the lives and deaths of some of our most famous forefathers.

There is no need to book (though spaces are limited). Just meet your guide beside the Information Desk on the ground floor.

Portable induction loops for hearing aid wearers, and portable amplifiers for non-hearing aid wearers are available to borrow for tours, upon request.  If you would like to make use of this equipment, would like more information or if you have any other access related enquiries, please email access@wellcomecollection.org or call +44(0)20 7611 2222.
